Chapter 211
Chapter 211
If the epidemic is causing demonizing, then I thought we just had to summon the pillar of light at the highest point of the estate. But it didn’t feel right for some reason. I felt like an insane amount of divine power wouldn’t restore the estate.
‘Maybe I moved too prematurely.’
As my determination started to wave at the sight, I shook my head. As I came here, I should solve the epidemic before I leave.
It was when we were almost at the southern plaza.
‘Huh?’
I was doubting what I was seeing. We were just turning the corner as we saw a woman with fancy red hair and running into the alley.
“Is it….!”
I wasn’t sure as I glanced, but that size and hair was Eris for sure.

“Iona?”
I lurched forward, prompting a surprised call from Ravis.
‘What is Eris doing here?’
Just then, a piercing noise echoed through the alley, a sound I recognized all too well. I spun around, spotting the source of the commotion: a demon.
“Ah!” The stench was overwhelming, and I felt myself swaying with disgust as the black shadow advanced on me.
Before I could even process what was happening, I was struck with a jolt and tumbled onto the cold, hard ground. The sickening sound of something slicing through the air filled my ears.
“Saintess, are you all right?” Ravis shouted. Dylan was standing in front of me. His body was covered with thin layer of divine power.
“T, thank you, Sir Dylan.”
“Iona!”
Ravis came while looking pale in surprise. He checked if I was ok. He looked similar to Ridrian, like the brothers they are.
“You’re not hurt?”
“Yes, I’m ok. Ah! Sir Dylan!”
Without hesitation, I responded to Ravis’ question, but my attention was quickly diverted to the sight of the demon closing in on Dylan from behind.
In a split second, a brilliant blue light materialized before Dylan, shielding him from the attack. The demon’s dark goo oozed over the barrier, but it held firm.
“Brother Dylan, it appears your skills have grown rusty,” Ravis remarked, his divine magic forming an impenetrable barrier around us. In the past, Ravis had never struck me as someone accustomed to rough-and-tumble combat, but his swift reaction time exceeded my expectations.
“… I’ll thank you for now.”
Dylan frowned but still thanked Ravis. He took a deep breath to increase his divine power. The light that was surrounding him got stronger.
“Get rid of the barrier in a count of three.”
“Alright.”
“One.”
Dylan took an attack stance as he stared at the demon who was banging on the barrier with the shape of hand.
“Two.”
Dylan’s momentum increased.
“Three!”
The barrier disappeared and Dylan launched at the demon. He swung his sword so quickly that it didn’t seem human like and he cut the demon in half.
“Purify!”
“Akra ma bornash la parte!”
The highest level of purifying divine magic was used. The blue light from Ravis’s body shined in the air and then covered the demon that was cut in half. The demon soon started screaming in pain. As Dylan swung his divine sword one more time, the demon soon became ash.
As my eyes beheld the spectacle of their synchronized demon-slaying, my mouth swung open in awe. Without thinking, I burst into applause, my hands colliding in a thunderous ovation.
They turned to me, perplexed by my sudden outburst.
“Why are you clapping?” One of them asked, confusion etched on their face.
“It’s the first time I’ve witnessed the two of you fighting together, and it was absolutely amazing!” I exclaimed, unable to contain my admiration.
As my words sank in, their eyes widened in surprise, exchanging sheepish glances with each other.
“Huh?” one of them mused, furrowing their brow. “I feel like I’m forgetting something.
When I look at back, Adman was on the floor with his soul seemed be to leaving his body.
“What was that just now? W-was that a demon you spoke of?”
His voice was gone from surprise. I gave him my hand so that he could get up. He hesitated for a bit before taking it.
“Yes, that was a demon.”
It was only right to be surprised. It was almost two meters long and the tar-like goo was streaming down its entire body. It was enough to bring disgust to anyone.
“I-it wasn’t an epidemic?”
He seemed to have realized why I asked about demons. And the real reason for this epidemic.
“That’s why I came. To resolve this.”
“I-isn’t it dangerous?”
“It is. But I have these two so I’m not worried.”
I smiled to calm him down and pointed at them. Adman looked a bit calm now as he sighed and relaxed his shoulders.
“Those from Theres group really are something. To destroy demons from legend with such ease.”
“They both have insane amount of divine power. But the problem is, you need that much skill to kill demons. So, if you see one, don’t fight it. Just run.”
“Yes, for sure. Ah! That’s why you thought it was odd. Lorkdie was too quiet.”
“Yes. I heard so many caught it, so where did those demons really go?”
The room fell silent in response to my question, and I didn’t press for an answer. I tried to push away the worst-case scenario that had started to form in my mind. Ravis broke the tension with a clap of his hands.
“Let’s hurry to the south plaza. Hopefully, we’ll find some answers there.”
We all nodded in agreement and prepared to set out.
