Chapter 212
There was literally no one at the south plaza. It seemed like the rumour of patient zero has gotten around, as the plaza that used to be the busiest was completely empty. Just two thin cats were passing by.
“How sad.”
I looked at the white stoned plaza.
“From what I hear, some random porter started screaming in the middle of the plaza and he started turning black from his fingers. Then turned into not black goo, but a demon.”
“A porter… Was he maybe trying to deliver something dangerous?”
“From what I heard, he brought low class ores from Larkden merchant.”
“No way!”
As I looked at Ravis, he nodded. The Larkden merchant was run by Marquis Piett.
‘Is he trying to show that he’s a demon?’
“Let’s look around here first. I’m a bit worried where we should look first though.”
I pondered for a bit as Ravis seemed worried. To be honest, there was one place that caught my attention.
“Sir Dylan.”
He looked at me. I hesitated for a bit before pointing at one side of the plaza.
“There’s some strange feeling from there. That there’s something there.”
They all looked at me. I’m just saying I feel something. Please don’t look at me as some sort of foreign being. There’s nothing to lose.
Ravis and Dylan looked at each other before nodding.
“Let’s go there.”
Dylan and Adman were wrestling with their sword at the place I pointed, then lifted a stone. There was something covered in yellow cloth.
“Ugh! That must be it.”
I covered my sleeve as the smell got to me.
Dylan covered his hand with divine power then took it out. Then he opened it in front of me to show me what was inside. It was a black stone that felt like that demon’s heart I saw in the dream.
“It’s a demon stone.”
Demon stone! It’s stone concentrated demonic power. Of course, people would turn into demons with such stone hidden in the market. I bit my lips at Piett’s awful doing.
“I also felt it but I couldn’t tell where it was… You can feel it if your divine power is that strong.”
“I’m amazed.”
“A saintess indeed!”
As the three of them twinkled their eyes, I couldn’t handle it and covered my face with my palm. I just said I felt it. I could feel them laughing as I was uneasy.
Ravis put his hand on top of the stone and poured in strong divine power. The stone instantly lost its power and split into two. The disgusting feeling from the stone disappeared.
“Since we got rid of this, now no additional demons will come out.”
“But this might not be the only demonic stone within the estate. You said the epidemic spread out the entire estate, right?”
As I turned and ask, Adman nodded.
“Lead me to the highest point. I need to check from there.”
“Then, I’ll lead you to the clock tower.”
“Thank you.”
We all headed to the clock tower.

At the same time, there was loud sound from the study of the Lorkdie’s lord.
“What do you mean the capital was taken! It’s been only two days since there was a treaty talk!”
“T, the travel circle was used by the Ivant army.”
Lorkdie’s lord wasn’t pleased with the message from his subordinate. He was already so busy with some random epidemic that happened in his estate.
“Damn it. Fine, what about the king? Is he dead?”
He asked while brushing his moustache anxiously.
“Not just the king. The crown prince and all the royals and high nobles in the capital were killed. And there was an order in the Ivant army to arrest all the high-class nobles within the kingdom.”
The Marquis’s face turned pale. He stood up and started circling the study.
‘This is absurd! This is outrageous! This is to replace everyone so the Empire can absorb the kingdom! We need to do something! Or else I’ll die like the rest of them.’
“Master, there is an urgent message from the castle gate.”
The butler brought a message on a silver platter.
“Not now!”
“B, but the saintess of Ivant is currently in the castle.”
“What?”
The butler’s urgent message made the lord’s eyes widen.
“The saintess of the Theres group? In my estate? What for?”
“I think she heard the news of the epidemic. She left ten bottles of holy water as he was she was crossing the castle gate.”
“Those expensive bottles!”
The subordinate was surprised. The lord looked lively as he seemed to have thought of something.
“That’s good. Maybe the saintess could solve the epidemic within the estate.”
“No, no, no.”
“Pardon?”
“This is a chance.”
The subordinate suddenly felt uneasy as the lord laughed creepily.
“I heard the emperor really cares for the saintess.”
“My Lord!”
He realized the lord’s thought and turned pale. If this was found out by someone else, the group and the entire continent would go berserk.
“This is all for the estate. Gazelle! Summon the knights. We’re escorting the saintess!”
The lord of Lorkdie thought his method was the best as he took the coat from the butler.
‘It would be good to be promoted to a duke with this.”
The lord of Lorkdie was full of foolish dream was he left the room.
