Chapter 206
Chapter 206
“Wow! It’s the saintess!” someone exclaimed.
“No, she’s our Majesty’s secretary,” another corrected.
“Saintess, please be our Queen!” someone else shouted.
Blessings and awe filled the air, and though I was taken aback by the unexpected outburst, I soon realized that they were all in my favor. With a renewed sense of confidence, I straightened up.
“Iona.”
He guided me towards the podium and called me quietly. When I looked up, he looked a bit sad.
‘I’m a saintess here. I’m a saintess.’
I took a breather and brainwashed myself then slowly opened my eyes. Below the stage became silent and thousands of eyes were watching me.
“May the blessing of life of Great Theres be with you all.”
I gave them a light blessing and gave them my hope.
“This is the last one. The era of despising and persecuting each other is over. Now this continent will have long peace under His Majesty Ridrian Ferid Lebrooks. This all happened thanks to your great support. With Theres’s will, I will also be by His Majesty’s side and help with all my might.
With that, I showed a bit of my divine power. Unlike before it was just enough to get them some energy back. But as they witnessed miracle before, even this was enough to remind them of it.
“Hooray for saintess! Hooray for His Majesty!”
“May the Empire be forever!”
“Whoaaaa!”
In that moment, my heart felt like it was dropping to my stomach as the roar from the crowd grew even louder than Ridrian’s speech. I couldn’t help but close my shoulders in surprise. Fortunately, Ridrian came to my side and reassured me.
“See? They like your speech better,” he said.
“Still, don’t make me do it often. I’m going to get a heart attack,” I replied, my hands still shaking from the adrenaline.
Ridrian seemed to notice, and he took my hands in his. I was surprised, but his smile quickly put me at ease. He then lifted my hand and shouted to the crowd, “The glory of God will be with the Great Ivant!”
The crowd responded with even more enthusiasm, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. Despite my nerves, I had managed to deliver a speech that had moved the people.
“Whoaa!!”
Now the soldiers were basically berserk, waving their weapons in the air. I felt my nose tingle from their reaction. I hoped they were able to return home safely. I smiled with that hope and waved at them.

The day before the campaign, I sent Ridrian away and was enjoying my day when a guest came.
“Saintess.”
As I heard a middle-aged woman’s voice and turned around, a lady that looked a little messy was there.
“Identify yourself.”
As she was about to approach me, Dylan stepped in front of me and put his hand on his sword. The lady got scared and looked at me.
“Please, please spare some time.”
‘Ah! I was wondering where I saw her!’
The lady with her brown hair tidied up was the wife of the lord of this estate. I’ve seen her once since we took over the estate. Even then she didn’t look well but today she was worse.
“Hello, Lady Vanmon.”
As I wanted to listen to her, Dylan stopped me.
“Saintess.”
“It’s okay. I’ve met her before. She’s the wife of the lord of this estate.”
“She’s a noble of the land we took over.”
“Is that a problem?”
“But…”
“I can’t see the lady so step aside.”
As I looked determined, Dylan didn’t know what to say and then took a step back. As I stepped forward and watch her, she looked somewhat touched so I looked away.”
‘Please don’t look at me like that!’
I shook my head to get my mind straight then met her at the meeting room.
“Let’s go in first.”’
She looked at the meeting room full of items from Ivant and had no reaction. It would’ve been her house only a few days ago.
‘Or is she so out of it that she didn’t even notice?’
I took a sip of tea from Ivant and asked her.
“What brings you here? The campaign was yesterday so it’s quite messy here.”
As I showed that she could talk, she quickly grabbed my hand.
“L, lady?”
“I thought maybe you can help me as a saintess so I came here despite of rudeness. Please, please help…!”
“Calm down. You’ll have to tell me what’s going on, so I know whether to help you or not.”
Seeing that the woman appeared to be in a state of panic, I used some of my divine power to help calm her nerves. Almost immediately, her face showed signs of improved blood circulation, and she began to compose herself, adjusting her clothing and posture.
“My apologies for my behaviour.”
“No, no need to worry about that.”
She slowly started to tell why she came.
“My son, Adman is currently at the Lorkdie Estate. A few days before you and His Majesty came, he went down with soldiers to request for supplies.”
My face started to turn bad as I listened to her long story.
‘People are dying because of an epidemic?’
My head became light.
Lorkdie estate, which was two days horse ride away from Vanmon, was much bigger. Their lord was a high noble so it was much wealthier, so her son went down as the deputy of his father to ask for help.
But the lord of Lorkdie estate didn’t even show his face and her son stayed around waiting for his call.
