Chapter 214
Chapter 214
I could feel the blood draining from my body. I couldn’t tell what was happening now. The bottom part of the clock tower was covered with demons.
“We’ll need to clean the surrounding area if we want to leave. I’ll try first.”
Ravis stepped up. He made us step back a little and then started to use purifying magic.
“Akra ma bornash la parte.”
This time, the range was different. The huge amount of light burst out of his body, covered the entire tower, and soon spread out.
I knew Ravis’s divine power was strong, but I could only help admire as I witnessed it in person. It was a beautiful light. The blonde in white priest robe was covered in blue light and it spread out in the air. It wasn’t in particle, but it was like huge ray of sun as it shined down on the demons.
“The demons stopped!”
Adman shouted like someone who witnessed a miracle. As I quickly checked the bottom of the top, tens of demons were all struggling in pain and started to spread out like dirty water. They didn’t move, but it wasn’t the ending that I was expecting.
‘Don’t they become ash?”
Even the demon that fought Dylan turned into ash.
‘Was it not enough?’
Ravis’s power was strong enough. The problem was that there were too many demons.
The blue light started to fade. But the demons seemed to have realized where their enemy was as they started to gather around the tower.
“Whew.”
Ravis’s purifying magic was over. It had immense success in stopping tens of demons but it wasn’t enough.
‘What can we do?’
I clenched my eyes. We had to do something. I had to summon that pillar of light. I was sure that I didn’t know how to use divine magic, not can’t.
That moment, we heard a smashing behind us.
“We’ve been looking for you.”
Some man looking tired stood in front of us.
“Who are…?”
“It’s the lord of Lorkdie.”
“Pardon?”
I realized that the thin old man in front of me was the lord of Lorkdie. I thought for a moment that he had come to rescue us but quickly noticed his eyes full of greed that that wasn’t the case.
“You shouldn’t be here, it’s dangerous. We’re here to escort you, the saintess of Theres.”
It was his way of saying he was going to use me as a hostage.
***
“Only two knights to protect such an important person. Now, now, we’ll escort you safely to our castle.”
The lord smiled with his teeth.
“You can send His Majesty a message from there.”
I realized the situation then smiled quietly.
“Everyone, it seems like His Majesty has conquered the kingdom.”
Dylan nodded, Adman looked shocked, and Ravis sighed.
“Isn’t it too quick?’
It’s been only three days since he left. But he already conquered Lucretia’s capital and that the news has spread the entire kingdom. I thought it was possible since it was Ridrian, but I really didn’t think he could end the war in a week.
“We should hurry back.”
Ravis nodded. I could sense that if we didn’t head back, Ridrian might come here with his army.
I was a little excited to be able to see him again.
‘It’s only been three days, but I miss him.’
[Guoooooh!!]
But as a terrible scream rang throughout the town, I came back to reality.
The sound seemed to have gotten louder. As I looked down, I saw the demons bigger than before Ravis used his magic. Did they consume each other?
“It’s dangerous.”
Dylan also seemed to have witnessed what I saw. He took out his sword and covered it with faint divinity.
“We’re in a disadvantageous position.”
Such a crusader. To worry about them dying to demons in this situation.
“Saintess, can you activate the purifying magic right now?”
I bit my lip at his question. It felt like I could do it as something was swirling within me, but now immediately. I just couldn’t tell this power that was boiling within me.
‘Can’t I do it the way I did before?’
When I felt like I was in danger, I thought maybe that was when the magic was activated. But it seemed like that was too easy of a thought.
The power I showed in Varos was just a show of divine power. But I was told by Ravis on our way here that that wouldn’t be enough to destroy demons. That I have to use proper divine magic. But I still have yet to succeed.
‘Just why!’
I bit my lip again then answered him.
“… Not immediately.”
He seemed a bit disappointed at my answer but then looked forward like it was no problem.
“Let’s get out of here first. If they miss us, then they’ll go back to the castle as well.”
“Do you think we can?”
The Lorkdie knights were at the stairs and the bottom of the tower was full of demons. As I looked at him worryingly, he looked determined.
“Leave it to me.”
Dylan’s stance changed.
“Ugh!”
The Lorkdie knights seemed to have felt the energy, as they started to back off. The Lorkdie lord who kept on saying something to us looked at them and started shouting.
“I, it’s just two people with swords! If you don’t want to be vanished from the knighthood, get the saintess!”
As the lord shouted, the knights hesitated for a moment then fixed their posture. It seemed like they thought they had a chance as they outnumbered us.
“It seems like they have no idea.”
Ravis spoke as Dylan sprung towards the first three knights and threw them away. As I saw something so unrealistic, I realized just how strong Dylan was.
Dylan quickly approached them then met their sword. He beat them down one by one. It seemed like he was hesitant on killing them.
“Now!”
