Chapter 97.2
Chapter 97.2
Seungho was the youngest member of the Flushing Video team. The others teased him mercilessly, saying he had never even had a girlfriend and had fallen for Michelle at first sight.
Seeing how much more nervous he was than she was, Miran’s own tension melted away.
Maybe that was why the first cut wrapped after only two takes. In the first, Jin couldn’t meet her eyes, so it was ruined. In the second, the instant their gazes met, his face flushed bright red. The sight was so endearing that a natural smile spread across Miran’s lips—and the camera caught it perfectly.
“Cut!” Seunghyuk called, checking the monitor with Esther.
[F~c.k, that was perfect.]
Grinning, Seunghyuk slapped her outstretched palm.
“Told you.”
Miran, who understood Esther’s English, couldn’t help feeling proud.
“Let’s set up for the next scene!” Seunghyuk’s voice rang out.
For the next shot, Jessica handed Miran an oversized plaid shirt and a pair of knee socks. Underneath the shirt she wore nude-colored string underwear, the lines concealed with makeup.
“Wait… I wear this?”
She’d expected a sexy outfit, so the choice came as a surprise.
“Yes. We actually debated this scene a lot because it’s important. We had prettier clothes ready, but the guys overwhelmingly voted for this ugly shirt. Apparently, men have this fantasy about their girlfriends sleeping over and wearing their shirts. It satisfies some primal sense of ownership. They say it’s sexier than being completely naked. Anyway, since this is all in Jin’s imagination, we went with their opinion. I don’t get it, but whatever.”
Jessica grumbled.
“So that’s what this is about…”
Only then did Miran realize why André always found excuses to dress her in his shirts. He clearly enjoyed both putting them on her and taking them off, even if he tried not to show it.
“Michelle’s got long, lean legs, so even in an ugly shirt like this she still looks sexy and beautiful. I can kind of see why men like the look.”
Miran bit back a smile.
I’ll have to wear his shirts more often in front of André.
Only three people remained in the storeroom: Esther, Seunghyuk, and Miran. To keep his promise of a smaller crew, Seunghyuk himself had taken charge of the lighting.
Esther carefully stretched a dove-gray stocking over the camera lens, saying she wanted to create the hazy, dreamlike aura of an old classic film heroine.
Just before shooting began, Seunghyuk gave her one last direction.
“Think of just one thing. This camera lens is your lover. Michelle, right now you’re seducing him. Not dirty-sexy—bright, loving, sexy. Do you understand?”
Miran gave a hesitant nod. He thought for a moment, then added,
“Let’s try it this way. Don’t overthink how much you’re revealing. Just act the way Michelle would, and we’ll watch the monitor and talk after.”
She drew a deep breath and nodded. For the first and only time, she felt respected as an actress. She didn’t want to let them down.
The moment “Action!” left Seunghyuk’s lips, Miran fixed her gaze on the lens. Strangely, she felt calm. Beyond the glass, she imagined André’s green eyes staring back at her.
As she unbuttoned the shirt, she gave a shy smile. In her mind, the gold ring around his irises blazed like sunlight. She stepped forward, slipping her shoulders free and lowering her gaze. Her cleavage showed, just enough.
She bit her lower lip and slowly lifted her eyes. André’s gaze shimmered like a restless sea. With a playful smile, she flung the shirt open, then turned her back. Tilting her head slightly, she eased the shirt off her shoulders, letting it slide down in a slow, rounded sweep until it hung past her hips.
“Cut!”
Miran instantly pulled the shirt back up, clutching it closed as she turned around. Her heart pounded wildly. Once the adrenaline ebbed, she couldn’t even remember what she had done, and she stood dazed.
Both Esther and Seunghyuk sat frozen, mouths half open, saying nothing. Miran asked carefully,
“W-was it strange? Should I do it again?”
At last, Seunghyuk set down the light and let out a long breath, rubbing his face.
[What do you think, Esther?]
[Un—F~c.kin’—believable. Come see it yourself.]
Esther cradled her head in both hands, blinking in disbelief. Seunghyuk checked the monitor, then let out a quiet sigh.
“Haa… Michelle.”
